Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg makes a jab at competitor Apple with a £3 billion legal case.

CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, has personally mocked Apple’s new headset, a competitor firm.

Celebrities like T-Pain and Diplo made news when they wore the Vision Pro in public. The device’s “passthrough” capability allowed the users to see their surroundings. Yet, Zuckerberg maintained that his company’s headset is “the best product, period” in a video that was recorded using Meta Quest 3’s own passthrough. We’ve reached out to Apple for a response. The newest mixed-reality headsets have a feature called Passthrough that lets users see through the screen that is attached to their head.

Users can use a headset while exercising or walking since the headgear’s exterior cameras provide a live, high-definition video feed of their surroundings. This technology, which Meta has been developing for more than ten years, is also present in competing goods like Sony’s PlayStation VR 2.
However, Zuckerberg is obviously annoyed that the Vision Pro is receiving more attention than other pieces of technology

“I think Quest is the better product, period,” he stated.
“It seems like there are a lot of people who just assumed that  Apply Vision Pro would be higher quality because it’s Apple and it costs $3,000 (£2,400) more.” However, given the price difference, I’m actually a little shocked that Quest is so much superior for the great majority of uses for these headsets.”
Product manager Parker Ortolani is among many who have praised the device but stated that the “physical trade-offs are just not worth it” in response to a number of people who have begun to post on social media about returning their Apple headsets.

Throughout a large portion of the movie, Zuckerberg attempted to emphasise why Quest 3 was superior. He cited a variety of benefits, including socializing and easy mobility without a cable, but he mostly made fun of the price disparity. “I expected that Quest would be the better value for most people since it’s really good and it’s like seven times less expensive,” he stated.

“I think it’s just a lot more comfortable, and we designed it to weigh 120 grams less, which makes a really big difference on your face.” It’s a huge deal that there are no wires that obstruct your movement.” In addition, he claimed that Quest 3 had a brighter screen and a larger range of view.
Zuckerberg acknowledged that the Vision Pro offered certain benefits, such as a greater resolution, but expressed surprise at the “number of compromises they had to make” in other areas in order to make the device work. He also complimented Apple’s headset for having eye-tracking, a capability that the Quest 3 lacks.

“Fanboys”

In closing the video, Zuckerberg discussed future possibilities for mixed reality. Striking at “fanboys” who “get upset whenever anyone dares to question if Apple’s going to be the leader” in a certain technology, he made a startling move. He made reference to Apple’s control over what can and cannot be installed on its devices when he added, “But the reality is that every generation of computing has an open and a closed model.

” Indeed, Apple’s closed model prevailed in the mobile space, but this wasn’t always the case; if you go back to the PC era, Microsoft’s open approach was the victor.In this next generation, Meta is going to be the open model, and I really want to make sure that the open model wins out again.”Proceed to London.
